IPL PHOTOFACIAL
An Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial is a laser light treatment that targets sun damage, red spots, brown spots, and vascular lesions (like broken capillaries, blood vessels, and rosacea). This procedure is sometimes also referred to as photo-rejuvenation. It’s a wonderful tool we have at Rosewood Healthcare & Medical Spa for reversing the signs of aging.

How Does the IPL Photofacial Work?
The IPL is not a laser, but rather a powerful light source capable of various wavelengths that are used for targeted skin rejuvenation. Each handpiece emits a different wavelength of light that targets a specific condition.
This controlled light exposure allows the IPL Photofacial to target either brown aging spots, red blood vessels, or hair growth.
IPL Photofacial Treatment Expectations
The IPL Photofacial is done at our state of the art facility in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Before your treatment, we will begin your consultation by discussing your skin care needs and goals. After your treatment, you should refrain from sun exposure and retinol for at least two weeks.
The procedure is not painful, but it can feel like a rubber band snap and be a little uncomfortable at times. The light used by the device can be a bit bright for some people with light sensitivity. The length of treatment depends on the area being treated.
What Can I Expect From the Results?
After your IPL Photofacial treatment, you will see immediate changes.* The spots pulled to the surface by the IPL device will eventually turn into a coffee-ground-like texture and eventually flake off. The result is beautiful, radiant skin.* If we are treating vascular lesions (broken capillaries, blood vessels, and rosacea) you will see their appearance greatly improved as well.*
